**FAMOUS FOOTWEAR CAMPAIGN UPDATE** [Sep. 8th, 2005|03:34 pm]

Yesterday, [9/7/05] President and Founder of PPAW [People for the Protection of Animal Welfare] Michael DiMartino spoke with Beth Fagen from Famous Footwear [www.famousfootwear.com] about the March of Dimes animal testing and abuse campaign and also about the campaign PPAW has iniciated against Famous Footwear [Give Famous Footwear the Boot campaign]. When speaking to Mrs.Fagen she said "If we don't fund the animal studies, who will?" when told about the agreement that was set forth by PPAW asking that the company ear mark all future donations for non animal programs only.

In the end, no victory for the millions of animals tested on and killed at March of Dimes contract labs was reached...PLEASE, tell Famous Footwear good intentions aren't enough! We won't buy while animals die!

Since the begining of August, PAWW [People for the Protection of Animal Welfare] has been attempting to pursade Famous Footwear [www.famousfootwear.com] to stop donating money to one of the most CRUEL and inhumane charities, the March of Dimes, we have sent letters, leaflets, and videos, all to no avail. As we promised, on August 27th, we are starting our "Give Famous Footwear the Boot" campaign...We won't stop until Famous Footwear and PPAW reach an agreement. For more information as to why we are boycotting, go to www.marchofcrimes.com. Please go to Famous Footwear's website and contact them in anyway and tell them if they continue to support cruelty, they will lose customers!

Day of action for late PETA2 street team member [Jul. 29th, 2005|07:08 pm]
People for the Protection of Animal Welfare [PPAW]
mike_hilton
On August 6, 2004, six people and a dog were bludgeoned to death in Deltona, Fla., apparently in relation to the theft of an Xbox. Jonathan Gleason, the youngest human victim of this hideous bloodbath, was one of peta’s most dedicated Street Team members and was devoted to speaking up for animals. To do our part to preserve Jonathan’s memory, we’re calling for a day of action on Saturday, August 6. We are going out for Jonathan and doing something we know he’d be proud of!

A 2004 graduate of Pine Ridge High School, Jonathan was an amazing activist who never missed an opportunity to educate his friends, coworkers, and fellow students about the horrors of factory farming and the benefits of going vegetarian. He started an animal rights group at his school, attended Iams demos, and leafleted at KFC. After showing “Meet Your Meat” to his friends and family, Jonathan reported, “The best of all was when I showed it in one of my classes, and afterwards, someone raised their hand and asked me how they could become vegetarian too. I signed him up at GoVeg.com, and he has been meat-free ever since.”

With his infectious enthusiasm and passion for animal rights, Jonathan not only made changes in his own life to stop animal abuse, he also inspired others to get involved and make a difference. He dedicated his life to making the world a better place for all animals, so in his memory, PPAW [People for the Protection of Animal Welfare] will be protesting on August 6th at the KFC [10395 W Sample Rd, Coral Springs, 33065] from 12-2pm.

Activists will be holding signs and unleashing "The colonel's REAL secret recipe, Live scalding, painful debeaking, and crippled chickens". For more information check out www.KFCcruelty.com.

Red Lobster Demo 7/30 [Jul. 16th, 2005|12:38 am]
People for the Protection of Animal Welfare [PPAW]
mike_hilton
Hello activists

I'm calling on you once again to help in our struggle with Red Lobster to have them boycott Canadian Seafood due to the fact that this year alone over 365,000 baby seals will be beaten and skinned alive for their furs, this is done "humanely" in the words of the Canadian government to prevent Seal over population.

We need you to be there and stick up for the seals, and tell Red Lobster, WE WONT BUY WHILE SEAL PUPS DIE!

The Protest will be on 7/30 from 12-2 at the Red Lobster at 2000 N University DR, Coral Springs, 33071

BRING AS MANY PEOPLE AS POSSIBLE

Feel free to give them a call to complain about their support of Canadian Seafood (954) 752-6131

For more information contact myself at 954-724-8896 or email me at either this address or ContactPPAW@aol.com.

PLEASE RSVP so we can estimate the number of activists attending

Thanks again
